Case Study: SCA Transport

With Complete responsibility for the operator licences covering more than 600 pieces of equipment, SCA transport’s national fleet engineer Andy Macrae has a delicate balance to maintain. He has to ensure that the fleet maintenance activity and its administration systems remain cost effective and efficient, while fleet operations teams at SCA’s 15 different depots want value for money, maximum fleet utilisation and minimum fuss

Thanks to the support of the BRS tap system, satisfaction is guaranteed with the added comfort from an early warning if compliance issues arise.

"Our systems were good but we lost time chasing vehicles and service sheets around the network, while ‘tap’ is always live and correct," says Macrae.  "The hook for me was the fact that VOSA had said: ’that’s OK, this is what we want.  There’s no need to see any paperwork’"

Macrae adds that if VOSA wants to do a full inspection of any or all of your depots, they want access to every service record and they want it quickly. "If something isn’t there-either because it’s been misfiled or perhaps it’s on route from the repair agent– it suggests to them that something isn’t right.  However, all I have to do now is to give them access to tap. I know that everything is there, and VOSA can see that everything is as it should be."
