The UK has some of the most rigorous legislative requirements for vehicles operating on UK roads. In addition, a wide variety of other assets including forklifts, rail stock, marine and building/facilities all need to comply with legislation.

There are a number of regulatory frameworks and bodies such as Operator Licensing, LOLER and the Health and Safety Executive that require evidence that critical safety-related activities are scheduled and actioned, and that companies hold documentary evidence of such.
